Tours Of Peace

Tours Of Peace (TOP) Vietnam Veterans is a nonprofit organization to help fellow veterans recover from the trauma of war. Through TOP, veterans have the opportunity to tour Vietnam or visit the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC.

To prepare veterans for the experience, Tours Of Peace Vietnam Veterans provides counseling and support sessions before, during, and after the trip.

In Vietnam, veterans return to their personal corner of the war. They see Vietnam as it is today. They return to base camps, visit South Vietnamese who still feel a bond with Americans, and meet North Vietnamese who want to reach out to former enemies. In addition to providing a rich cultural experience, TOP gives veterans the opportunity to complete their missions, validate their sacrifices, and be recognized for their contributions.

Common Ground Journeys

Common Ground Journeys is a not for profit bicycle tour operator that specializes in bicycle trips through Viet Nam. Their mission is to give people an opportunity to see Viet Nam as it is today, meet her people and learn about their culture while bicycle touring.

The tours are lead by a native of Viet Nam who is now an American citizen living in Vancouver Washington. Any and all profits above costs to produce the tour are left in Viet Nam as charitable contributions to help further children's education in disadvantaged areas that see little if any tourist dollars.

"A Quest for Healing" Tours

My name is Walter Bacak; and I head up the non-profit tours, "A Quest for Healing," for Vietnam Vets. I did three tours with the Army: 1965--173rd Abn; 1967--1st Bde (LRRP) 101st Abn; and 1970-71--MCV TM 162--Advisor through the Vietnamese Abn (Red Hats).

I have returned to Vietnam three times and am now conducting tours for Vietnam Vets. This is a 12-day trip to Saigon (HCMC) and Danang. The $1,645.00 price includes R/T air from Seatac to Saigon, R/T air from Saigon to Danang, ground transportation, some tours and flexible to meet special needs for side trips within reason, all meals, laundry, hotels, airport taxes, visas, passports, insurance with SOS International for emergency evacuation, a few cyclo tours about and around Saigon and Danang, side trips to Cu Chi tunnels, Marble Mountain, Hue, and other possibilities.

A person can extend their stay by changing their flight itinerary, as the visas are good for 30 days if applied for; and we do, in case of emergencies. For more information, feel free to contact me at:
